About the group

What this group is for

A small, ongoing space for teens who are working on their relationship with food, body image, and self, at whatever stage that work is in.

Living with an eating disorder can feel isolating, even when you have people around you. Friends might not understand. Family might not know what to say. This group is a place where teens who are navigating similar struggles meet each week to talk about what's actually going on. It can be a hard moment with food, pressure around body image, a thought that's been loud lately, and be met with real understanding instead of judgment.

The same group of teens meets together over time, so trust has a chance to build. Members practice putting hard things into words, hear that they aren't the only one who feels this way, and get honest, caring support from peers who understand it from the inside, not just advice from another adult telling them what to do.

This group runs alongside individual care, not in place of it. It's designed to support teens who are already working with a therapist and/or medical provider, and isn't a substitute for individual treatment or medical monitoring. If you are interested in joining the group, but do not have an individual therapist, inquire here.
